No. 1/101 Tour Brooklyn Brewery’s expanded factory and try its new suds.

Our adventure officially starts today. We chose to tour Brooklyn's Brewery as our first of 101 things to do in the spring (per TimeOut New York's site) mainly because...well...the beer of course. Seeing that it is Sunday, and to most people in their 20's it's also known as "Sunday Funday", drinking beer on this beautiful afternoon seemed to be the best choice as our first on the list. When we first arrived we were told that money is not accepted by the bartenders, and that tokens were the only form of payment accepted.

We were pleasantly surprised when a cute kitty greeted us, who resembles a skinny version of Morris, our cat at home. There we gladly bought our tokens ($4 each, or 6 tokens for $20) and started to booze. I got the the weisse beer, and Sarah got the winter beer. First sip, delicious. The free tour started 5 min after we got there. We walked to the newly added section of the brewery, where for the next 30 min we heard the history of the company and were given a lesson on how they make beer. After the tour we went back to the beer hall area to get another beer, we had 4 more tokens to burn.

As we slowly sipped our second round, we observed the crowd, which consisted of all sorts. My expectation was to see hipsters galore, but that was not the case. People from all ages were sitting and enjoying their beers. Sarah and I decided that we would definitely come back, not just to enjoy the yummy beer, but also to people watch.
